Sydney!

Looking out at the city
We arrived in Sydney on Thursday, and ever since has been jam packed with awesomeness! We're staying with friends who worked up Grouse Mountain with Glen, and they've been awesome hosts. Sydney is really great! The shopping is amazing and there's so much to do... and the weather is really nice and hot.

The first couple of days, we were shown around the city to spots like Bondi Beach, South Head, Balmaine, Sydney Harbour, The Rocks, weekend markets (best I've seen), and to lots of great coffee/gelato/food spots shown to us by our local tour guides, Lane, Alex, Stew, Bundy and Zoe. Hit up a lot of old bars, and went to this bowling alley/night club called Strike... fun:)

On Monday, we took the ferry from downtown over to Manly, a seaside town that is a half an hour ferry ride away. It has sweet shops and really nice beaches... we took a walk on the seawall then over to North Head where there's a nice view of the city and you could see dolphins and whales from the shore.

We rented a car Monday night from a company called Rent-A-Bomb... literally... it's a bomb, but cheap. Drove out early Tuesday morning to the Blue Mountains, which is about an hour away from Sydney. We got to the main viewing point where you can see the "Three Sisters" rock formation but it was so cloudy and foggy you couldn't see anything! So we drove for an hour further to the Jenolan Caves, some of the oldest caves in the world. We just walked around for an hour, they had some tours you could do but we were a little caved out after doing the big cave thing last week in NZ.

We drove back towards the big touristy viewing spots and the weather had cleared and it was beautiful and sunny again. The views were amazing!! It definitely reminded me of the Grand Canyon... obviously not as big but just so vast.

Today we fly out to Melbourne, so we're going to pack up and hit the beach before we hop on the plane! I'm loving Australia so far, it's quite different from New Zealand but it's just so awesome!!!
